MATERIALS
Raw materials are collected on the small island in the Venetian lagoon where the paper is hand made.
Plant fibers from the island’s natural eco-system are combined with species used in traditional Japanese processes.
They are carefully cut and dried.
PROCESS
Bark is removed, and the stalks are steamed and dried.
The white bark is soaked and boiled overnight in an alkaline solution.
To keep the highest quality the fibers are then hand cleaned.
This is then pulped, pigmented and pressed to the specific requirements of the project.
